The VIP club at PokerStars is one of the best online player reward programs offered to poker players. PokerStars’ VIP club is loaded with exclusive services that only get better as players’ VIP level increases. If you want to know how to become a member of PokerStars’ VIP club, read on.
Overview of the VIP levels
Six levels in the PokerStars VIP club can be reached. The first four levels, BronzeStar, SilverStar, GoldStar and PlatinumStar, GoldStar, SilverStar and BronzeStar are the first few VIP levels you can get to on a monthly basis. A set number of VPPs have to be achieved in a single month to be able to move to the next VIP level. The other two of the six VIP levels are yearly and are called SuperNova Elite and SuperNova. They require a certain amount of points to be earned in a year.
Becoming a PokerStars VIP Club member
It takes really nothing to be a member of the VIP club. All you need to do is register as a player using the Pokerstars Marketing Code 2012, download the PokerStars software and once you play your first hand, you are a member of the VIP club. You start from the BronzeStar VIP level, the beginners’ level in the VIP club and work your way up. You go up the VIP ladder by playing and earning VPPs (VIP Player Points).
Play
You earn VPPs by playing in a cash game with a qualified rake or in tournaments by paying a fee. You can view your VIP level by visiting the Cashier section of the game lobby and clicking on the VIP level button. A window will display your present VIP status, points accumulated and the points needed to proceed to the next level.
Earn
PokerStars awards points of two types to its players- VPP and FPP (Frequent Player Points). For each VPP you earn, you also earn a number of corresponding FPPs, the number of which is determined by the player’s VIP level. Players with a higher VIP level will earn higher FPPs for each VPP. VPPs are evaluated on a monthly or a yearly basis and are not redeemable, while FPPs are redeemable and can be exchanged for cash or for purchasing items from the VIP store.
In a poker tournament, VPPs are earned based on the entry fee and in a cash game, they are earned depending on the amount raked by each hand played. There are separate rules for earning points in cash games- these rules vary according to the size of the tables.
Be rewarded
The benefits that being a PokerStars VIP offers are limitless. As you move up the VIP ladder, you will have amassed many FPPs. These FPPs can be exchanged for money and can be used to avail of a number of services offered by the VIP club. One of the things you can do is exchange them for money and spend it at a VIP store. Otherwise, if you prefer, you can use the points as buy-ins for bigger poker tournaments. Either way, you can make use of the accumulated points to full benefit.
